Eyelash Extensions For a First Timers

If  you have been thinking about getting lash extensions. This is what you need to know before you do it.

What Are lash extensions?

Lash extensions are imitation singular eyelashes that are dipped in glue and adhered to your individual lashes one by one. Mostly made of silk, mink, and synthetic. If you’re a first timer, synthetic extensions are your best bet.

Getting started?

The  most important step is choosing who will apply them. Find the right person,  do your research to find an experienced practitioner

When it comes to eyelash extensions, you get what you pay for.

Improperly applied extensions can damage your real lashes.

How should  my new lashes look like?

This is a personal preference. It’s up to you and what you want to get out of your implants.  Ask yourself: “what is  the look I’m  going for?”

How will it feel?

The stylist will separate each lash with  tweezers and glue  a longer lash onto it. The process of getting a full set takes about two and a half hours. It is such a painless experience that most people fall asleep during the procedure.

What precautions should I take ?

The glue needs a full 24 hours to cure. During  that time you won’t be able to expose your lashes to any water or heat. Once the glue sets, you can live your life normally. The glue adheres the extensions to your lashes permanently, but they will shed with the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes, which is about 6-8 weeks. It’s recommended to get your lashes filled every 2-4 weeks.

When it comes to makeup and skincare, stay away from any oil-based products as they can break down the adhesive.

Stay away from waterproof mascara. It is hard to remove and you can easily pull the extensions off trying.

If you use regular mascara, stay away from the lash line, near where your lashes are glued.

To prevent premature lash loss, you should sleep on your back.

No rough stuff during sex (lol).

Besides these simple precautions,  you can go about your life the same way as before.
